IRC Channel

About The IRC Channel

The #osCommerce channel is an officially registered IRC channel on the Freenode network where technical discussions regarding the development versions and progress of osCommerce are held.

The IRC channel provides the possibility to communicate with other developers in a real-time environment that remains unintrusive compared to other communication services such as Instant Messaging, and is instantaneous compared to online forums and email.

Software Needed

To connect to the IRC server an IRC client needs to be installed on your computer. Here is a list of popular clients available for different platforms:

Server And Channel Information

The Freenode network can be connected to with the following address:

irc.freenode.net

Once connected, the #osCommerce channel can be entered with the following command:

/join #osCommerce

Official IRC Channels

The #osCommerce channel is currently the only official channel on the Freenode network that is endorsed. Additional channels will become available when extra services are provided on the osCommerce Development Site.

Please note that the #osCommerce IRC channel is not to be used for support requests on public project releases. Providing support for public project releases is to remain at the osCommerce Community Support Forums.
